Becoming an Ambassador for Christ

The world we live in today is full of sin. God needs Ambassadors or individuals who are willing to represent Him and be the light in a dark world. But exactly who can be an ambassador and what are the responsibilities and duties.
The dictionary states that an ambassador is a representative sent by their country, company or organization to act as a diplomate or official voice to communicate policy, values and goals to bring about change or unity.
The apostle Paul wrote in 2nd Corinthians 5:20 (web) We are ambassadors on behalf of Christ who is in heaven. Paul at the time was addressing the Christian congregation in Corinth, but what he says, applies to all of us.
As an Ambassador for Christ, our mission on earth is to represent Him by spreading His message to His people on earth, our temporary dwelling place thereby bringing others to Him. We must be willing to represent Him and be the light in a dark world.
We must demonstrate love, kindness and integrity, actively sharing God’s message in the bible.
We represent Him and His character by helping others develop a relationship with Him.
There is training involved in becoming an Ambassador for Christ just like it is to be an ambassador for a country, company or organization.
When you are an ambassador for a company you must know everything about the company, including its history, products and values. If you are representing God, you must know and study God’s word and share that information with others. We also must make sure that our actions reflect that, whether you are at school, work or your community
Everyone that follows Jesus is an ambassador here on earth and whether we are in our homes, school, church or work we should display God’s love and invite other to join us in spreading God’s message by how the way we live our life and interact with others.
